Role Overview

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and mentoring a team of software engineers and guiding them in building scalable, high-quality solutions that power Satispay’s payment ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure the alignment of technical execution with business objectives. Reporting to the CTO, your leadership will drive innovation, foster a culture of continuous learning, and support the professional growth of your team.

Our tech stack includes Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Java, Jersey, Spring, DynamoDB, and AWS infrastructure. We use RESTful microservices on EC2, RDS/DynamoDB for persistence, S3 for storage, AWS Lambda for serverless functions, Kinesis, and ElasticSearch for log streaming.

Your mission:

• Lead and mentor teams. Manage and support a team of engineers, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.

• Drive technical innovation. Guide the development of scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions, ensuring best engineering practices.

• Enable cross-functional collaboration. Partner with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects align with business needs and technical requirements.

• Ensure high performance. Oversee daily team performance, conduct regular one-on-ones, and provide constructive feedback to help engineers reach their full potential.

• Architected and scaled systems. Contribute to technical decisions that shape the evolution of our payment platform, ensuring robustness and scalability.

Your ideal profile:

• Technical expertise. Solid experience in software engineering, with a focus on scalable architectures, microservices, and cloud-based environments (AWS preferred).

• Leadership experience. Proven track record of managing cross-functional engineering teams (12+ members total, both direct and indirect), fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on growth and technical excellence.

• Strong communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across different levels.

• Mentorship mindset. Passion for guiding engineers, sharing knowledge, and supporting career development.

• Problem-solving approach. Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate complexity, ensuring efficient and impactful solutions.

• Passion for FinTech or Startup environments. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings and are enthusiastic about contributing to the growth and innovation of a FinTech or startup company.
