Junior Controller

 

Job Description:

MainStreaming is expanding its business internationally. We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Controller to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Junior Controller will support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting activities to enable data-driven decision-making. This role is critical in providing insights and recommendations that support the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Financial Analysis: Support the financial analysis process for costs, revenue, and cash flow to enhance strategic decision-making.
  • Reporting: Own the preparation of financial reports, providing insights on company performance.
  • Monthly Closure: Cooperate with the accounting team in the month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the automation and continuous improvement of financial processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives and financial planning.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or a similar role, ideally in the technology sector. Experience in a fast paced, VC/PE backed company is a plus.
  • Knowledge:
  • Solid understanding of financial planning principles, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Familiarity with accounting standards (IFRS/Italian GAAP) and cash flow management.
  • Knowledge of financial software/tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, ERP systems, reporting tools).
  • Skills:
  • Financial modeling & analysis: Ability to create, interpret, and optimize financial models.
  • Problem-solving & critical thinking: Ability to analyze complex data and propose actionable solutions.
  • Communication & stakeholder management: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present financial data effectively.
  • Technical proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial planning tools, and reporting software.
  • Process automation & efficiency: Experience in improving financial processes and leveraging technology to optimize workflows.
  • Language: Fluency in Italian and English required.
