We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Software Sustaining Engineer to join our team in Pisa.

 

Sustain SW Engineer will support the maintenance of the MMI teleoperated microsurgical robot with a focus on SW including all SW tools used during SW installation, servicing, diagnostic and testing and related analysis of log files for issues investigation.

 

Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive analysis grounded in a strong understanding of product hardware and software. Collaborate closely with clinical specialists to assess clinical and operating room environments, identifying potential factors that may contribute to failure modes.
  • Support the investigation and classification of issues coming from the field, the service or the manufacturing line through system log analysis
  • Support Service Team in predictive and preventive analysis to improve system reliability based on data analysis
  • Support the investigation and resolution of product software issues reported by users or identified through monitoring.
  • Collaborate with R&D software developers to develop, validate and maintain internal software applications to support the investigation and classification of issues
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and document work instructions related to the end-of-line testing, installation and maintenance of the teleoperated robot used for microsurgery
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyzing software performance and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with R&D software team to support and maintain internal-developed software for end-of-line product release

 

Soft Responsibilities

  • Effective communication among different departments (R&D, Service, Quality, Manufacturing, IT)

 

Required/preferred background and experience:

  • Master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Automation or similar
  • 3+ years of working experience
  • Proved proficiency in developing Python applications
  • Experience in working in high-regulated environments
  • Proved proficiency in working with Agile mindset, with experience in developing software requirements-oriented following V-Cycle
  • Experiences in using tools of issue tracking and CI/CD (e.g. Jira)
  • Shall demonstrate strong problem-solving ability in mechatronic and/or robotic contexts involving electronic, software and mechanical components including electrical motor actuation and sensors.
  • Knowledge of data analysis methods using Matlab will be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW programming language will be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of C# programming language will be considered a plus
