We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Sr Mechanical Sustaining Engineer to join our team in Pisa.
The Sr Mechanical Sustaining Engineert is responsible for the support and continuous improvement of existing Instruments. It keeps the product life cycle under control, reduces production costs, improves reliability, and ensures customer satisfaction. It also enables compliance with changing regulations and the opportunity to capture new market opportunities through an incremental process.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with QA to manage Product QE and Complaints performing investigation, root cause analysis of failures, and proposing remediation.
- Propose and execute design changes to satisfy R&D and MFG needs.
- Develop Test Protocols and related Equipment process validation
- Support quality investigation campaign.
- Update MFG product items to improve parts quality and reliability modifying drawings (Tolerances and CTQ), specs or selecting different supplier or different production methods.
- Identify and promote MFG process optimization or change to improve quality, lead-time or costs both for external and internal produced parts.
- Manage parts inventory disposition .
- Review and update DHF and DMR for a smooth transfer to MFG.
- Design and develop MFG tools included documentation to optimize assembly or production process.
- Develop mitigation for pFMEA identified risks.
- Drive Problem Solving processes (A3 DMAIC) to solve everyday issues.
- Work with Operations Quality on Production Change Orders to maitain updated Items and Documents on Arena PLM.
- Interface with Suppliers of Components and Equipments used in Manufacturing
Requirements
- At least 5 year experience on similar roles.
- At least 3 year experience in biomedical field (preferred)
- Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering Degree.
- Expert in Design Control process.
- Expert in mechanical design .
- Experience with CAD SW (Solidworks preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing process in biomedical field (preferred).
- Medical Quality System knowledge (e.g. GMP).
- INSTRUMENT Specific Requirements:
- Wire EDM fabrication
- Plastic Molding and welding
- Surface Treatment
- Basic knowledge on Biocompatibility Sterility and cleaning process
