Cellply is a life science tools company based in Bologna, Italy. We have developed and are launching a next generation analysis platform to transform immunotherapy discovery, development and quality control using novel single cell approaches to carry out multi-parametric assays in parallel from the same sets of cells. We are creating the new standard for fast, automated, and multiplexed assays that puts more critical data in the hands of immunotherapy researchers in basic science, pharma, release testing and beyond. Our first product is currently with customers in early access, and we are growing quickly and looking for an exceptional new team member to contribute to the Production and R&D Team.
We are seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer.The key responsibilities will be the verification, maintenance, and documentation of complex analytical instruments for the analysis of biological cells, integrating robotic parts, microscopy and imaging units, environment control systems. Successful applicants have a practical attitude for prototyping, mechanical assembly, and testing execution, is self-starter and willing to work in a fast-paced start-up work environment. The position will work within the hardware engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute of system verifications
- Support customers (remotely or on-site) to fix technical issues and repair or replace hardware parts
- Calibrate and perform maintenance of manufactured hardware products
- Interact with external suppliers to manage technical issues
- Gives support for the design and prototyping of automation and mechanical parts
- Write and maintain product documentation
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent discipline
- 0-3 years of experience
- Practical attitude for prototyping, mechanical assembly and testing
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel for on-site customer support
- Self-starter attitude, flexibility and willingness to work in a start-up environment
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with mechanical CAD design (Inventor) is a strong plus
- Knowledge of main manufacturing and prototyping technologies (e.g. CNC, sheet metal, injection molding) is a plus
