About D-Orbit

Developer of a decommissioning device designed to dispose of satellites at the end of their lifespan. The company's decommissioning devices can be installed on any satellites and launchers' stages and are able to quickly and safely remove them from orbit in a controlled manner and ensuring a cleaner space, enabling space organizations to reduce the effort of electric satellite platform during the critical first phase of orbit raising, increasing the overall satellite reliability.

Job Description

Qualifications and experience

  • At least three years of working experience in spacecraft systems design;
  • Knowledge of System Engineering principles and system-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems;
  • Knowledge of data busses architectures;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work in a team;
  • Experience in the use of Matlab and Python;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Knowledge of Mission analysis software (GMAT/orekit) is a plus ;
  • Working experience on Earth observation applications is a plus;
  • Confluence and YOGI requirements experience is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Linux is a plus

 

 
Job Role

As part of D-Orbit systems engineering team you will work on the system design together with other subsystem engineers. You will follow the full cycle of the product, starting from the preliminary design and the requirements capture. You will be involved both in the customization of already existing platforms and in the design of new missions. You will also interface with the manufacturing team and the AIV engineers and you will be responsible for the definition of the test plan, procedure, and setup.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Overall spacecraft and subsystems design;
  • System and subsystems budgeting;
  • Coordinate the integration of different subsystems;
  • Mission/project requirements capturing & management;
  • Interface with and support AIV team and related activities;
  • Interface with manufacturing;
  • Support to the system test plan, procedures, and setup definition;
  • Authoring of Technical documents
